268 flag emojis are available in Australia. But 1 flag representing the oldest living culture on earth isn’t—the Australian Aboriginal flag. In 2019, Unicode rejected our petition to make it. We asked again in 2024. Again, they said no.

On Dec 12, 2024, when Apple launched their Genmoji AI, allowing users to create emojis for the first time, we hacked their AI, bypassing Apple's ban of "flag" and finally made the Aboriginal flag emoji.  

By Dec 13, the campaign generated enough attention to ensure Google Gemini automatically shared our prompt with anyone googling "the Aboriginal flag emoji".
